Warm-water (wet) underfloor heating turns your whole floor into a gentle, even radiator — no cold spots, no radiators cluttering the walls, and lower running temperatures than a conventional system. Because we both install the pipework and lay the screed over it, one team is accountable for the entire floor, not two trades pointing at each other.
Done right, underfloor heating is one of the most comfortable and efficient ways to heat a home or commercial space. The screed is the key: it stores and spreads the heat, so the type and depth of screed over your pipes makes a real difference to how the system performs.
How it works
We fix the UFH pipe circuits to the insulation, connect them to the manifold and pressure-test, then pour screed over the top to encapsulate them. Liquid screed is the standout here — it flows around every pipe with no voids and conducts heat efficiently, which means a thinner cover and a faster, more responsive floor. Traditional screed works too where the build-up suits.
Commissioning
Once the screed has cured, the system is commissioned by bringing it up to temperature gradually — never fired up early, which can crack a green screed. We give you the curing and commissioning programme so the floor and the heating both last.

Which screed is best for underfloor heating?
Liquid (flow) screed, in most cases. It flows around the pipes with no air gaps and conducts heat more efficiently than traditional screed, so the floor warms up faster and runs more economically — and it can be laid thinner over the pipes.
When can I switch the heating on?
Not until the screed has fully cured — firing it early is a common cause of cracking. The system is then commissioned by raising the temperature gradually. We give you the exact programme for your screed.
Does underfloor heating work with a heat pump?
Very well — UFH runs at low flow temperatures, which is exactly where heat pumps are most efficient. It is one of the best heat-emitter pairings for a modern, low-carbon system.
